The Rise of Taapsee!

From being a sweet, sanskaari, doe-eyed Desi girl, to a fierce & indomitable woman who even owns her mistakes like a boss, Taapsee Pannu can be called the Ms. MOJO of the B-town!
It took a short clip from his soon-to-be released Runningshaadi.com for filmmaker Shoojit Sircar to discover his spunky yet beleaguered Meenal Arora in Pink (2016). And actor Taapsee Pannu was a stand-out in the hard-hitting film, co-produced by Sircar, which dealt with the evil of women’s harassment.

It has proved to be a landmark movie in the 29-year-old’s career.  
“With Pink, I addressed a social issue close to my heart. I’ll remember this film even after I stop acting. It will be a movie that I’ll be proud to show to my kids,” says Pannu, who has at least four films lined up for 2017—Runningshaadi.com, Naam Shabana, The Ghazi Attack and Judwaa 2.
Known for her empowering roles, this girl chose to start Bollywood with a mainstream movie like Chashme Baddoor as she admits that it was a conscious choice to be part of a commercial potboiler at the onset of her career rather than opting for some art house film.
“Had I started off with a Baby (2015) or Pink (2016), it would have probably got me labelled an off-beat film actor. Once I entered the industry with a commercial film and had a commercial success to my credit, I felt I was ready to show them something more and different. That’s why I had to take a forced back door entry in Baby,” says Taapsee.

Currently, as we all wait to see Taapsee back in the ‘Diva’ avatar with her starring in Judwaa 2 alongside Salmaan Khan, Varun Dhawan & Jacqueline Fernandes, Taapsee cherishes her fan-girl moment, while promising:  
 “For the last six months I am dancing, getting ready, having fun, big sets, big director, producer, feeling like a Bollywood heroine. I am in Bollywood diva zone. I was enjoying the fruits of my hard work for these six months. After this I get back to some serious stuff!”
Whoa! Looks like this girl is heading straight for both: the stars & the charts!
